D-Link offers a complete range of Fiber solutions for Enterprises and Data Center (DC) scenarios, covering the patch cord, the patch panel, and the cabling itself, with both multimode (OM) and single-mode (OS) options available.
Optical Multimode 3 (OM3) has range and bandwidth sufficient to cover most scenarios (300m for 10G, 100m for 40G & 100G), making it the dominant fiber class on the market. It is a 50μm Laser-Optimized Mulitmode Fiber (LOMMF) that features 2000MHz-km Bandwidth-Efficient Modulation (BEM) with 850nm Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELS).
OM4 has very similar transmission properties to OM3 fiber (50μm LOMMF/850nm VCSELS, while expanding the range (550 meters/10G (550M), 150 meters/40G, and 150 meters/150G), making it an unmatched option in most ultra-long-distance scenarios for Enterprises.
The recently-approved OM5 standard represents a major change from previous generations. It is a 50μm Wideband Multimode Fiber (WBMMF) used with 1300nm VCSELS. OM5 supports emerging shortwave wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) applications with dual-fiber connectivity, delivering a range of 400m (10G) and 150m (40G/150m) per individual fiber.
OS2 Single-Mode Fiber is the new Carrier-grade standard, suitable for Metro Area Networks (MANs), Passive Optical Networks (PONs) and other Telecom scenarios of 5 to 10km. It is only compliant with ITU-T G.652C/D standards, and therefore explicitly applied for Low-Water-Peak Fibers, which are generally used in Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM).

Once a structured cabling system has been installed, registered by a certified Systems Integrator (SI) and validated by D-Link, a 25-Year Performance Warranty will be issued to the end user, providing both confidence and security in their investment with D-Link.
